Frequently Asked Questions

What makes one balloon delivery service 'better' than another for my event?
'Better' is specific to your occasion, venue, and timeline. The most useful comparisons ask about balloon materials, how long arrangements are designed to float, delivery coverage and cutoffs, whether setup is included, and whether the studio will provide an itemized quote. Comparing providers on those five criteria is more reliable than comparing marketing claims.

How far ahead should I order balloon delivery in Los Angeles?
It depends on complexity. Simple bouquets can often be accommodated on shorter notice when inventory and routing allow, while custom color palettes, installations, or large quantities benefit from pre-ordering so materials can be sourced and delivery windows scheduled. Ask the studio for its ordering cutoff for your date and location.

Are foil (Mylar) balloons regulated in California?
Yes. California Penal Code 653.1 requires balloons made of electrically conductive material and filled with a gas lighter than air to be sold with a weight sufficient to counter lift, a warning statement, and manufacturer identification, and it prohibits outdoor release of conductive balloons at events. Utilities such as Southern California Edison also report hundreds of outages each year traced to metallic balloons, so professional studios deliver them weighted and secured. A statewide phase-out of balloons made of electrically conductive material is scheduled to take effect in 2031.

How long do helium balloons actually float?
Float time varies with balloon size, material, fill, and environment. Standard-size helium latex balloons commonly float on the order of hours untreated, while interior float treatments such as Ultra HI-FLOAT — which its manufacturer states can extend latex float time up to about 25 times — can carry arrangements into multi-day displays. Outdoor heat and sun shorten float times, so ask any studio what they use and what they expect for your setting.

Should I worry about latex allergies or child safety with balloons?
Worth planning for, not worrying about. Natural rubber latex is a documented allergen, so mention latex sensitivity to your studio — non-latex styling is a common accommodation. Pediatric guidance also notes that uninflated or broken latex balloons are a choking hazard for young children, so adult supervision and prompt disposal of broken balloons are the recommended practices.
